My professional experience in photography began over 25 years ago as a part-time newspaper photographer and darkroom lab technician. I later earned a BA degree in Photojournalism from the University of South Carolina in 1984. I was a staff photographer for South Carolina’s largest newspaper, The State, from 1983 to 1990. Throughout my time at USC and The State I was a regular contributing photographer for the Associated Press and United Press International. During my career as a photojournalist I won several awards for news and sports photography from the SC Press Association and the SC Press Photographers’ Association.
I left the full-time photography profession to earn a masters degree, which I have put to use as a high school science teacher for 14 years. Throughout this time I continued to use my photo skills for personal projects as well as many community and school-related projects. Meanwhile I watched with great interest as the art and science of photography underwent dramatic changes with the advent of digital technology. My passion for capturing life in pictures has been rekindled and intensified by the incredible and ever-increasing array of creative possibilities now available.
I consider it a tremendous honor and privilege to be invited to play a role in your special day. My goal will be to repay your trust by leaving you with pictures that you and generations to follow will treasure. The true value of these pictures will be in their capacity to remind you of the beauty, excitement, nervousness, and joy that swirl around you during those precious and sacred hours. If, decades from now, you can look back at your wedding pictures and recall not only how you looked, but also how you felt - then I have done my job.

Wedding Photography
After we discuss your specific desires I can give you a definite price, but you will see that my normal range is from less than $2000 to a little over $3000. For what it's worth, the "average" charge for my weddings over the past couple of years has been right at $2600.
